From her kitchen table in Lennox Head NSW, Claire Sowden found that in her childrens school town of Lismore, rescue services were overwhelmed but she became instrumental in helping direct rescue efforts.

Through co-ordinating people who needed rescue with rescuers via facebook, she managed to organise a chaotic situation, and become one of the many extraordinary people who helped save lives during the floods.
