A last-minute rush to pass electoral reforms through parliament has raised concerns from community groups, charities, and the federal crossbench.

It’s the first time any government has made significant changes to the voting and campaigning process in decades.

But many independent MPs say it could signal the ‘death of democracy’ in Australia.
