Under the direction of the National Cabinet, all aged care workers will be required to have had the first shot of the Covid-19 vaccine by mid-September. The new directive came out of a recent National Cabinet meeting and comes after multiple discussions on the topic.

In a similar fashion, some airlines are requiring the same thing. One regional airline in Queensland has begun to make vaccinations mandatory, with many other national or international airlines considering the same.

The move has raised some questions, however, over whether it is legal to force workers to take the vaccine. Unfortunately, the answer to these questions is more complicated than it may seem, with different fields yielding different results.
