As academics, politicians and economists discuss the new cuts and spending measures of the 2022-23 Budget, Treasurer Jim Chalmers has taken the opportunity to emphasise the new party approach that Labor will be taking to economic management.
One of the changes to this budget was a section where Australia’s performance in certain areas is compared to other OECD countries. The new table is part of the government’s new policy ‘Measuring what Matters’, and differs from previous governments, who often measured wellbeing through GDP.
