The discovery of missing hiker Hadi Nazari, who survived for almost two weeks alone in the wilderness of the New South Wales high country, has been described my many as a miracle.
Nazari went missing on Boxing Day of last year after he became separated from his friends and lost sight of the track near Geehi, in Kosciuszko National Park.
The young hiker’s disappearance prompted an extensive search effort involving more than 300 people, led by Police and the NSW State Emergency Service across some of the most rugged terrain in the state.
Nazari survived on water from mountain creeks, wild berries, and two muesli bars that he found at the isolated Opera House Hut, at the western edge of the national park. He eventually made his way up to the Kosciuszko Main Range Track, where he was found by a group of hikers at around 3.15pm on Wednesday the 8th of January, 13 days after he went missing.
