The National Archive is a treasure trove of Australian social history but the collection of documents, film, photographs and audio recordings is in danger of deteriorating beyond repair.
Vast quantities of material is in urgent need of digitisation into secure formats that will preserve the material for future generations.
Starved of adequate funding over many years the Archive is struggling to update and preserve this unique record of Australia’s past.
