Over the next four years, the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is estimated to be one of the most expensive federal government social programs.
Disability advocated have described the NDIS as an “oasis in the desert”, due to the overdependence on the scheme for disability support when mainstream services should be becoming more accessible.
