This month, the budget was handed down with some changes to Australia’s migration system.
There will be 190,000 places allocated in the Permanent migration program- with 137,100 allocated to the skilled migration program.
Other changes include, applying for an Australian visa to get more expensive from 1 July 2023. As well as Student visa work restrictions to be capped at an increased rate of 48 hours per fortnight from 1 July 2023.
What affect will these new changes have on Australia’s migration system? Alana Su Navratil spoke with Ross Ahmadzai and a recent post-graduate student to delve into these changes.
