New report shows the lasting effects of sexual violence

The Australians National Research Organisation for Women’s Safety released a report this week that uses data from the Australian Longitudinal Study on Women’s Health to look at the effects of sexual violence amongst women

The report found that women who experience sexual violence were a lot more prevalent than previously reported and the affects are long lasting. The report also found that those who experience sexual violence in childhood are twice as likely to experience it more recently.
