A heritage-listed state school in East Brisbane will be shut down to make room for a new Olympic Stadium in Woolloongabba.
A new stadium for The Gabba has been proposed ahead of the 2032 Olympics, which will force the relocation of the East Brisbane State School.
Parents and teachers of the school say that the new stadium will greatly disrupt students who need to travel to new catchments in flood-prone areas.
The Wire’s Nicholas Powell spoke with Queensland Greens Councillor, Jonathan Sriranganathan and Chairperson of the East Brisbane State School Olympic Impact Group, Haline Ly, about how the relocation will affect the community.
