After a long battle from community organisations, Origin Energy decided to exit its Kimberley oil and gas interests.
The community was concerned Origin was going to frack areas in the region, damaging the environment and affecting the residents in the area.
A conservation group in the Kimberley has been advocating to stop Origin on fracking their community, and they welcomed the news from Origin.
So what’s fracking and why does it harm the environment?
