A new statue is being planned to be erected in Alice Springs to honour and commemorate a 19th century headman commonly known as King Charlie.
The statue will provide important historical and cultural significance, recognising the impact the legendary Arrernte leader had in welcoming white settlers and paving the road for modern day Alice Springs.
