Australia’s fertility is at an extremely low rate, which is the result of a failing sex education approach in schools, say some reproductive specialists.
Teenagers and young adults are seen to have little to no knowledge about the risk of infertility and how delaying their time to get pregnant would make it difficult for them to give birth in older ages.
Many researchers, including Laureate Professor John Aitken – one of the world’s leading sperm biologist, believe that it is a must to overhaul our current school curriculum in fertility education to rebalance Australian birthrates.
