Female footballer and Matilda’s star, Sam Kerr, has been much talked about because of her absence from the Olympic Games.
The reason, a knee injury, concerning her Anterior Cruciate Ligament or ACL.
Australia has some of the highest incidence of ACL operations, but a findings published in the Australian Medical Journal suggests that if all amateur players were to follow a specific preventative program, this number could be drastically reduced saving over $1.5 million along the way.
