With an estimated 20,000 attendees, many Australian Indians were excited at the chance to see Modi. However, there are also many not so eager to welcome the Prime Minister.
Despite the divide between Hindus and Muslims under Modi’s increasingly concerning leadership, Sandy Mitra, President of the India Australia Association of Canberra, maintains that his job is to emphasis the positive side and foster an Australian Indian community of proud migrants.
