A treaty outlining the protection of underwater heritage sites is being considered in Parliament today.
The Convention on the Protection of the Underwater Cultural Heritage outlines a legal basis for protecting heritage sites in Australian waters as well as important sites outside Australia’s jurisdiction.
The protection of Indigenous heritage sites is a major consideration in today’s hearing.
