Regional and Rural communities across NSW have been left confused over how long they will need to wait for Pfizer appointments after thousands of Pfizer jabs were reallocated to HSC students in Sydney’s worst-affected suburbs. While regional leaders support measures to curb the spread of the outbreak and allow senior students to return to school they are concerned that vulnerable people in these regions will be unable to access vaccination appointments. Currently, a large number of frontline health workers in these areas are still unvaccinated, sparking fears that if Sydney’s outbreak were to leak into regional communities their medical infrastructure would struggle to cope.
