Australians with disability are demanding an end to partner income tests to access financial support.

Income tests determine the level of payments received from the Disability Support Pension.

Under current laws, payments decrease for the recipient when a partner earns over $372 per fortnight and stops entirely if the amount exceeds $1500.

A recent change.org petition has garnered almost 20,000 signatures urging the government to abolish partner income tests across all welfare payments.
