Anti-vaxxers no major concern for Byron lockdown

NSW’S Northern Rivers, an area with a reputation for anti-vaxxer and conspiracy rhetoric has entered a snap lockdown as the latest outbreak of COVID19 surges through the state.

A man in his fifties tested positive for the virus following his arrival from Sydney. He failed to check-in at a number of venues during his infectious period, plunging four Local Government Area’s into lockdown as the list of exposure sites grow.

As eyes are drawn to the hippie-hotbed, local authorities believe the community will follow imposed measures hopefully avoiding a rapid spike of community transmissions.
