Russia maintains it has no plans to invade the Ukraine, but with an army of 30 thousand on the Belarus border and 120 thousand on the Ukrainian eastern border, it would appear they could easily overwhelm the dilapidated Ukrainian forces whenever they chose.
With western leaders beating a path to Vladimir Putin’s long conference table, the Russian President appears unmoved in his resolve.
If only they could ascertain what he wanted to achieve, then a tragedy might be averted.
