Taliban ready to pounce as US leaves

With the announcement this week that the US and now Australia will withdraw troops from Afghanistan, there are fears that chaos and tribal conflict  will be the result. The Taliban will almost certainly move to fill the power vacuum left when the weak Kabul government is left unsupported, and surrounding countries will be eyeing off Afghanistan’s rich mineral resources and preparing to do deals with warlords.
