As the deadline looms for the ban of under 16’s on social media, teenagers have been sharing advice online on how to circumvent the ban when it comes into effect on December 10th.

On TikTok, teenagers are sharing tips on how to dodge potential restrictions – from using a parents email for login to claiming their mum ‘manages their account’.

Platforms including Meta plan to introduce measures to identify underage users following the deadline. The concern remains however, that banning social media access for under 16’s altogether will only push them more to find ways around it.
