In February this year, the government announced the University Research Commercialisation Action Plan. The plan will invest $2.2 billion into encouraging research with commercial value and the collaboration between University researchers and Industries.
However, some are worried about what this involvement would do to the integrity and Independence of university research. While offering some funding to certain fields, others are being left behind.
