The ‘Gig Economy’ is in the spotlight following yesterday’s decision by the Fair Work Commission that a driver was in fact an employee, not an independent contractor.

Long hours, below minimum pay and algorithmic management means that drivers often struggle to make the job worth their time, despite the flexibility and autonomy that gig economy platforms such as Deliveroo and Uber Eats boast about.
