A long weekend is what the promise is of the four day working week. But it is not just compressed work or guaranteed long weekends, and it requires a viable model tailored to the company that is implementing it.
Many have been calling for this reform, but the New Zealand branch of the Unilever corporation have not only moved to a 4 day week, but improved productivity in doing so.
They are currently reforming the Australian operation and for a manufacturer, it will actually mean savings.
