Twenty years ago, The Wire got its start on the Community Radio Network.
Stations 2SER and Radio Adelaide were the founding stations, and the program now operates around the country with thousands of Australians listening in daily to hear stories from their own backyard.
In a country where 90 per cent of news media is owned by one company, more independent voices are needed in Australia.
