Tibetans met with ministers in Canberra yesterday, for the 12th Tibet Lobby Day, organised by the Australia Tibet Council, to address human rights issues in Tibet.

They were encouraged by a poll indicating that 70% of Australians want stronger human rights accountability.

Delegates called for support for a UN investigation into the separation of Tibetan children from their families and the protection of Tibetan language. They stress that most Australians prioritise human rights over trade with China.
