The Governments Budget has left Australian higher education out of the conversation.
Australian universities will not be receiving any extra funding and are expected to see up to 10% in cuts over the next three years.
With Australian borders remaining shut until mid 2022, the loss of international students has already left a hole in university funding.
Universities are expected to see more job losses after the sector has already seen a decline of 13% since being denied JobKeeper through the COVID-19 pandemic.
