Urgent call for ethnically diverse stem cell donors

Every 28 minutes, someone in Australia is diagnosed with a blood cancer, for many a stem cell transplant is their only chance for survival.

Currently, ethnically diverse Australians have a much lower chance of finding a genetic match, and therefore survival. Because the majority stem cell donors on the registry are caucasian.

Organisations like UR the Cure are raising awareness, and campaigning to improve ethnic diversity on the donor registry.
