Another aged care worker and resident has tested positive at Arcare Maidenstone Home in North-West Melbourne, highlighting the low vaccination rates of residents in the state’s aged care homes. Since the virus was first detected on an “mystery” worker in the home on Sunday, the federal government has been racing to inoculate residents and staff of the home setting a new vaccination record. With almost seventy percent of elderly residents in the home now having received their first vaccination, the outbreak has revealed the lapses in the government’s Covid-19 vaccination rollout.
