Better outcomes for communities in health will result when a Voice to parliament is established according to the Lowitja Institute.
Hospitals and other institutions are often insensitive to cultural differences that alienate many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people – the consequence is that they can simply avoid going or leave too early which can have bad effects on their health. Care assumptions can also mean that they are not getting the most appropriate treatment.
