What the milkshake consent video says about Australian sex education

With the issue of consent in the spotlight following revelations of workplace culture in Canberra, the government’s attempt at raising awareness about this issue in the form of the now infamous ‘milkshake’ video has shown how deep-seeded this issue really is. Experts told The Wire that the milkshake video is an example of misunderstandings and unhealthy attitudes towards sex, which can be traced back to Australia’s less-than-ideal sex education system.
