Yesterday, the Federal Government has only passed one measure of the Industrial Relations Omnibus Bill, and slashed the rest of the measures.

The measure which defines casual employment in the Fair Work Act, will see changes such as allowing casual staff to pursue part-time or full-time employment after 12 months.

The measure also protects businesses from casual employees seeking extra entitlements and back-pay.

Areas slashed from the bill include wage theft protection, enterprise agreements and award simplifications.
