How often does it happen? You drop your phone, your screen cracks and all of a sudden you need to spend hundreds to repair it.
A group of researchers from the University of Queensland are part of an international project destined to prevent that problem from occurring again. It is still a number of years from completion, but when the technology becomes mainstream, it could see the an amount of $775 million spent yearly on repairing phones in Australia reduced significantly.
However, it does not end there. The technology will also benefit the image quality of all devices that use a screen, and will also serve as an upgrade on today’s solar panels.
