An event in Brisbane by the Queensland Council for Civil Liberties will explore how to make the youth justice system better with non-punitive responses.
It comes as the Queensland government is trying to tackle youth crime across the state with stronger sentences for young offenders, but the system, instead of supporting their rehabilitation, makes them reoffend.
