In an unusual pairing, surfers made waves in Parliament House this week to launch the ‘Parliamentary Friends of Surfing’ group.

World champion surfers and local heroes, travelled inland to promote the importance of surfing culture and its positive impact on communities.

The initiative aims to foster a stronger connection with lawmakers.

With surfboards in hand, the athletes met with policymakers to advocate for coastal conservation, and the promotion of surfing as a healthy and inclusive lifestyle.
